WiSan Diego, possibly one of my favorite cities. The sun is always shining, if you need good tequila Mexico is super close, and the latino food is fire (literally, my mouth was on fire).
This is not your typical Tex-Mex tacos. These savory little artisan tacos were authentic and did not dull down the spices for sensitive tongues. So, here are my top favorite taco joints in San Diego.
Lucha Libre was probably one of my favorite taco shops I went to on my recent trip. I loved the way the atmosphere of the restaurant was with the Lucha Libre decorations and the pull-down microphone that the employees used to announce your order. Within Lucha Libre, there is a golden VIP table. This VIP Table has a cutout Lucha Libre and a gold rope to usher those important wrestling guests.
Fun fact: if you wear a lucha wrestling-style mask you get a discount.
If you are looking for more of a fast food chain feel, Lolitas Mexican Food is the place. The prices are perfect if you are anything like me: budget conscious. Just because Lolitas Mexican Food is more of a chain restaurant does not mean that you are going to suffer in the taste department.
The food is both delicious and authentic. If you don’t eat anything else you MUST try the loaded steak fries with carne asada steak and lots of cheese
San Diego has been one of my favorite places to visit so far. The food was delicious and savory. The spices at Lolita’s was just the right amount. I can attest that it made me gain a couple pounds as well. Back to the gym for me! I highly recommend these two places for their ease in parking accessibility as well as the budget-friendly pricing of both.
